Moto Guzzi 850 T

Moto Guzzi 850T

The Moto Guzzi 850 T, sometimes known as the Interceptor, is the touring version of the better-known California. It has none of the excess baggage of its American cousin (footplates, panniers etc), and is a supremely comfortable and enjoyable bike to ride.

Ours is a 1974 model prepared by Pietro Di Marino, acknowledged as the UK’s leading Italian authority and has the pretty round-fin 850V-twin engine and shaft drive. It pre-dates the Guzzi integrated hydraulic brake system, where the right front disc works off the handlebar lever, while the left front and the rear disc work off the foot brake; ours has twin cast-iron discs at the front and a massive and very effective drum brake at the rear.
